Tell your prospects or customers what they will achieve or should expect to achieve by meeting with you.
2. Establish discipline in your process
A big part of being disciplined lies is getting organized. Call list preparation and schedule coordination with sales professionals as appointments are made are among the most obvious items. Metrics such as ‘dials per hour’ and appointment setting closing rates can allow objective measurement of the lead generation activities. A disciplined appointment setting strategy will allow your sales team to spend more time in front of your potential clients, closing deals, and less time office bound dealing with administrative tasks.
3. Put appointment setting in the hands of a specialist
Don't make sales reps schedule their own sales appointments. Most sale people don’t like it and as a result aren't very good at it. Leave the job to professionals who love doing it and are good at it. Salespeople function most effectively when selling. A sales professional wants to meet with prospects, determine a fit, suggest solutions and close the deal. It feeds their competitive nature. Companies are best structured when salespeople exploit their strengths rather than work on weaknesses.
